For this episode we asked local Leeds talent Luke Gibson to get in the mix for us... someone who's showing all the right skills to take his music up into the atmosphere. Luke is a regular at Back to Basics and also partly responsible for the legendary Push On after parties that ran for over a year, week in week out and kept us up way beyond our bedtime. Frenchy and myself have also been playing a lot of his productions in our sets and it's fair to say they ROCK.... For the show he decided to exclusively mix all his own material together ... performing it as a DJ (not done on ableton or anything like that)... showing that not only is he a talent in the studio but he's also got what it takes on the decks too. For this episode we welcome one of the driving forces on the UK electronic scene Ralph Lawson. Being head honcho at 2020vision has meant he's been instrumental in providing some of the best underground music for the last 2 decades. With a heavy DJ schedule and constant touring with his live act the 2020 Soundsystem we are thrilled that he could find the time to do us an exclusive hour mix for the show. It's a solid selection smoothly mixed in typical Lawson style.... You can also catch Ralph regularly on Ibiza Sonica web shows if you need just that little bit more in your life.

As always the pillars of sound Frenchy and Tristan throw some shapes either side of the hour mix and supply the usual aural delights from the heart and not the chart.

Well it's been a while but we're massively BACK after technical issues that are now well and truly sorted. For this show we welcomed our good friend and musical musketeer Joe Morris to give us an hour of the sounds he's feeling at the moment (well in January anyway, sorry Joe) . Joe has been busy in the studio working on his craft lately and it all seems to be paying off with a remix on 3am records, New ep signed to Mat Playford's Social Problems label and one of the tracks licensed already to the new We Love Space compilation which will be compiled and Mixed by Mr "sleazy keys" Playford himself.

Of course you can always rely on your reliable "Pillars of Sound", Myself and Frenchy to support the guest on either side... Laying down a cocktail of discoid doings and housey happenings. Welcome to 2011 everyone... Throwing Shapes wishes you all a very HAPPY prosperous year / new decade. It's a very exciting time right now with lots to look forward to, especially here on Throwing Shapes.
